About me

Barbara Good-Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) with extensive experience supporting individuals, families, young adults, adolescents, and children.

She holds a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

With a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, Barbara specializes in helping clients navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, grief, substance misuse, chemical dependency, life coaching, sexual trauma and addictions, childhood issues, and career development.

Barbara’s therapeutic approach is grounded in active listening and empathy, utilizing an eclectic blend of humanistic and person entered modalities; including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialictical Behavior (DBT) and Transpersonal modalities. 

She is dedicated to creating a supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions while working toward healing and growth.

Barbara firmly believes that every person has the right to live a fulfilling, authentic life.

Her mission is to inspire others to break free from negative self-talk, discover their unique strengths, and become the best version of themselves.

In her personal time, Barbara enjoys outdoor activities, yoga, music.  She is an advocate for the International Dark Sky Association. https://darksky.org/
